11 pelicans, a great egret and 9 turtles

Kate had the day off yesterday and on my lunch break we walked around the lake. There were eleven pelicans which was a big jump from the previous day when there were only three.

Two of the pelicans swam close to a great egret and while we were walking by and the egret took off and landed about thirty feet away. It rained overnight and while it was mostly sunny on our walk, half of the sky was permeated with dark clouds. We also counted nine turtles on the log that marks the halfway point in the walk. They're often out there on sunny days that aren't too hot. There was a pile of them on nearer the island with one lone turtle on the opposite end.
