Pelicans depart a third time

Yesterday I walked around the lake on my lunch break with my mom. For the third time this year, the pelicans had departed. There were no pelicans. The first time they were gone this year was January 16th and they returned January 20th. The next time they were gone was January 27th and they returned February 1st. I'm curious how long it will take for them to return this time.

The cormorants took full advantage of their absence. There were very few on their main tree at the North of the lake. Their secondary tree at the South of the lake had a couple birds on it, but most of the cormorants were in a single flotilla that roamed around the lake while we were on our walk.

Most of the other elements around the lake were the same as the day before.
