Yesterday I had the day off so instead of walking around the lake I went to Montaña de Oro and walked part of the Bluff Trail with my mom.
Before we started, we stopped at Carlock's for pastries and we ate them on a bench near the parking area. My mom had the last Bavarian cream-filled cronut and I had a plain iced cronut.
The weather was sunny and warm. We saw western gulls and Brandt's cormorants on the rocks. An osprey also flew by while we we walking.
My mom spotted a large group of more than twenty hikers making their way up to Valencia Peak.
My mom also spotted two cats on leashes outside a sprinter van in the parking area.
