On January 15th the cartoon header for News from ME changed to Mark sleeping. Sometime today it changed to one of my favorites, the one where Mark is surprised by two cats, the yellow-orange one is on the back of the chair looking back at Mark and the brown one is in the chair busily typing at the keyboard and wearing a headset. It's a little, well, sad is not the right world, but it stirs up some feelings. Feeding feral cats was a big component of the blog for a long time but as far as I know the last one in the chain passed away in 2021, not long after Mark built a beautiful little house for them. Whatever else, it gave me a lift today when I needed one.
