14 pelicans and a great egret on a chilly Winter day

Yesterday I walked around the lake on my lunch break. It was a chilly day, 48 degrees at the time I started. I spotted fourteen pelicans which was two more than the day before.

I also spotted an indecisive great white egret. Most times I've seen these birds at the lake they're walking along the edge of the water in one direction. For this reason, Kate and I have a nickname for them: white walkers. The egret I saw yesterday would walk a few steps in one direction and then turn away and walk in a different direction. It repeated this a couple times like an unseen base coach was waving it off.

Besides the birds I spotted four turtles on their usual log.
